稲荷講

　　　今日は、極楽寺の四箇所稲荷大明神様の
稲荷講に行ってきました。
　　　

全国に稲荷神社はおよそ３万社あるそうです。
その稲荷神社の起源は、７１１年秦伊呂具という人が、
お餅を的にして弓矢の練習をしていた際、
矢が餅に当たる前に餅が３つに分かれて白鳥になり
飛んで行き、その白鳥が降り立った所が、稲荷山の
峰であり、その場所に稲が生えてきたそうです。
そのことに驚いた秦伊呂具は、そこに神社を建立したそうです。
そこが、現在稲荷神社の総本社、京都の伏見稲荷大社であります。
　　　稲荷信仰も平安時代になると変化し、茶枳尼天(だきにてん)信仰
として流行し、平清盛も熱心に信仰したそうです。茶枳尼天は、
鬼が密教に取り入れられ、福の神として扱われるようになり
狐の精として、狐に乗った天女の姿で描かれています。
この茶枳尼天を祀っている最も有名な稲荷神社が、
豊川稲荷です。
　　　いずれにしても稲荷神社は護国豊穣、商売繁盛の神様
として現在まで多くの人々によって伝え祀られています。
　　　また、大きなお社を建立するときは、必ず四隅にお稲荷さん
を祀り、結界をつくってから仕事にかかったとされており、
極楽寺のお稲荷さんが四箇所稲荷と言われる所以はそこにあります。
風水による町つくりと関係があるのでしょうね？
　　　こうした環境をしっかり守り、伝えるることは、とても大切な
ことですが、残念なことに極楽寺では、現在二箇所しか稲荷講を
やっていないそうです。
　　　私がお伺いしている稲荷講は、おじゃまするようになって
もう１４年になりますが、毎年楽しみにしていて、
気心の知れた者同士が、お稲荷さんをまえに一献傾ける
リラックスした大変楽しい会合です。
　　　毎年のことでありますが、本当にお世話さまでした。
